After months of hard work and preparation I finally managed to take a spot on the podium at the Swedish Junior Championships and claim my first medal in HR16, though it was not without a few hickups.

The first qualification round was among the worst shooting I have ever done and I came close to giving up on several occasions. The second qualification round was much better, but it was not enough to save the qualifications and I ended up qualifying 14th out of 21 shooters.

On the second day I felt much more confident and in my first match I was faced with a lower ranked opponent and walked away victorious after a 7-3 win. In the second, and what I thought would be my last match I was faced against the nr3 qualifier. Though I was feeling confident and quickly put down two 10's before he could get his first shot off which led to him stressing a lot. I won the first set and after that I just kept building on the momentum and before he understood what had happened I had already won the match with 7-1.

The semifinal was the closest match and me and my opponent ended up going to a shootoff after tying the match at 5-5. In the shootoff we both shot 10's which is very uncommon, but my 10 was closer so I ended up moving on to the final. Sadly it all ended in the gold medal final where my opponent only dropped two points during the entire match and ended up winning with 6-0.

After all I'm very pleased with my silver medal and my shooting in the finals, especially knowing how I shot during the qualifications.
